Registration open for LSSA annual general meeting 2023
Registration is now open for the Law Society of South Africa’s Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting which will take place on Friday 24 and 25 March 2023. The theme of the conference is: ‘Preparing legal practitioners for change.’

We have invited speakers from the Legal Services Ombud, the Department of Justice as well as the Judiciary to give an address and to answer questions from the floor. The LSSA is committed to the rule of law and access to justice and would like to hear what is being done to help the problems faced by the legal profession.
The conference will be preceded by the annual general meeting (AGM) in the morning at the same venue as the conference. The AGM is open to all practitioners.
The rest of the day will be devoted to discussions on Climate Justice, Disruption in legal practice: What happens to ethics, pro bono, and social justice and democracy during disruption; Preparing legal practitioners for change; and Legal Education: The winds of change – a new paradigm for legal education.

The day will be kick started with presentations by the Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund, the Legal Practitioners Indemnity Insurance Fund and a discussion on Law Firms of the future by Lucien Pierce that will assist legal practitioners build law firms that are future resilient.
The Law Society of South Africa’s (LSSA’s) Swift Networking event is a structured free flowing networking event allowing legal practitioners to interact with others in one-on-one sessions for information exchange. Sponsors will also become part of this session so that practitioners can get more information on the services they provide.
