The LSSA’s LEAD department runs a mentorship programme. A mentors’ database of experienced attorneys to transfer legal skills to less experienced attorneys (mentees) is maintained by LEAD.
The essence of the mentor’s function is to engage with the mentee to develop his/her legal skills and confidence to practise.
The aim of the programme is to assist the mentee gain greater access to advanced legal work while contributing to a strong, professional legal profession.
Mentoring can be a rewarding experience both personally and professionally. Successful mentors often improve their leadership skills, learn new perspectives and ways of thinking and gain a sense of personal satisfaction. Read more.
